Interested in drawing and painting since childhood, Mike did not seriously focus on art until ten years ago. He is self taught by studying books and by practice in his studio and on location painting directly from nature. He is a traditional painter of landscapes and is committed to plein air painting, believing that observation of nature is the key to understanding it and depicting it convincingly.
