Drawing and painting has always been a part of my life. It has been a way for me to express my individuality. My art is intensely personal. The selection of a particular scene or piece of landscape is the main vehicle to express how I react to the environment as a symbol of life's energy. My intent is to use landscape images as a way of transmitting my joy, awe, and calm in the presence of nature." Dick has been a member of Art-A-Fair and the Huntington Beach Art League since 1991. He has been guest lecturer/demonstrator for many art associations in the Southern California area. Dick has won numerous awards in juried shows throughout California, and his paintings are in private collections in Japan and from coast to coast in the U.S.

Richard Keyes has been an artist since childhood, winning one of four national Scholastic Magazine awards as a teenager. He received his B.S. in Design from the University of Michigan and M.A. in Painting from the University of California Berkeley. He taught drawing and painting at Long Beach City College for 27 years and was Chair of the Art Department for his last 11 years there until his retirement. He continues to teach locally at the Huntington Beach Art Center and has enjoyed the experience of being the Artist in Residence at Yosemite National Park. He has a background of painting in the Abstract Expressionist style, has done welded steel sculptures, and at present paints in a realistic, yet somewhat impressionistic style. Landscapes and florals are his subject of choice. His goal in painting landscapes is to capture the feeling, mood, and essence of a particular place.
